The Drama Department at Winifred Holtby has created an interesting and diverse scheme of work. This scheme of work is created to support and develop student’s education, confidence and communication skills, supporting their growth into young adults. This enables each individual to achieve their full potential as young people.

Dramas Mission is to:

KS3 Drama

Themes explored in KS3 Drama include:

KS4 Drama

KS4 Drama is studied through BTEC First Diploma in Performing Arts (Acting) or BTEC First Certificate in Performing Arts (Acting).

What are BTEC Firsts?

BTEC qualifications are designed to provide specialist work-related qualifications in a range of sectors. They have been developed to provide the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to prepare students for employment and/or to provide career development opportunities.

How to achieve BTeC's

BTEC First Diploma. Equivalent to 4 GCSE at grade A* to C.

BTEC Level 2 First Diploma is a 360 guided learning hour qualification, studied over two years, comprising of core and specialist units which cover aspects of knowledge, understanding and competency necessary within employment in this field. This qualification has vocational as well as subject emphasis, to give students a real taste of the Performing Arts.

BTEC First Certificate. Equivalent to 2 GCSE at grade A* to C.

BTEC First Certificate is a 180 guided learning hour qualification, studied over one year, comprising of core and specialist units which offers students bite-sized opportunities to experience vocational qualifications. BTEC First Certificate gives students who wish to study a shorter programme opportunity to study units related to aspects of employment within the Performing Arts.
