In KS4 Mathematics is again generally studied for four 60 minute lessons per week however those students who take a diploma will be offered three 60 minute lessons per week. Students follow the AQA Modular GCSE course at either foundation or higher level as appropriate. The course consists of three exams, two of which will be taken in year ten and form 45% of the final GCSE grade. For those students who display a natural ability in the subject, there is the opportunity to start the course in year nine. We also offer a statistics GCSE, this is separate to the Mathematics GCSE and is recognised by employers. This is generally offered to higher ability students and students are expected to complete a coursework project before being entered for the exam. |
